Guided by our Group’s green infrastructure ambition, we are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. These targets shape how we build
resilient, future-ready businesses and how we support the industries and communities we serve. A key part of this journey is the CFAO Group’s investment in renewable energy across Africa through Aeolus, a joint venture with Eurus Energy, a renewable‑energy operator. Aeolus focuses on solar and wind power
generation, expanding access to clean energy while strengthening long-term energy security and sustainability across the continent.
Here in South Africa, we support this ambition through our own operational transition. A significant portion of CFAO South Africa’s national footprint has already shifted to solar power, improving energy resilience, reducing environmental impact, and enabling safer, more reliable operations for our
people, customers, and partners.
By treating renewable energy as a strategic business model rather than a stand-alone initiative, Aeolus directly contributes to economic growth, carbon-reduction efforts, and sustainable development across Africa. This approach aligns with our long-term purpose: to build progress responsibly, for the future children of Africa.
